Meet Our Team
Meet Ms. Nicole, she is an Occupational Therapist. Ms. Nicole is a 1997 graduate of Kansas Newman College, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy. She has been proudly practicing for 27 years and has worked in a variety of clinical settings, but her heart has always been drawn to pediatrics and that is where she found her true love and passion. Ms. Nicole started Kidz First Therapy in 2011 when she realized that there was a need in this area for more pediatric services for families. Over the years, the clinic has grown into a multidiscipline facility with highly trained therapists that all have the same passion to impact the lives and children and help them reach their full potential. Ms. Nicole has a variety of continuing education experience such as being a Level C Certified Dynamic Movement Intervention Practitioner, SOS trained, Vital Stim Certified, Beckman Oral Motor Training, Bal-a-vis-x, Rhythmic Movement and has many trainings in the Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration method. Outside of Kidz First Therapy, she enjoys spending time with her family/friends, watching her daughter play volleyball and lacrosse, and going to Broadway shows. A fun fact about Ms. Nicole is that she has recently taken up reading for fun.

Meet Miss Kristin! She is our Clinical Director and a licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. Miss Kristin graduated in 2018 with an Associates of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy. She has experience treating clients aged birth to 24 in various settings including Missouri First Steps (in home), school, and outpatient clinic. She completed extensive continuing education in the neurodiversity affirming approach to Autism intervention, trauma and ADHD. Additionally, she completed over 125 hours of Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Integration (MNRI), Bal-A-Vis-X and TBRI. Outside of Kidz First, Miss Kristin enjoys spending time hiking with her husband, traveling and spending time with her family and cats. A fun fact about Miss Kristin is that she has traveled to 7 countries and 48 states.

Meet Ms. Madison, she is a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) through AHIMA. Ms. Madison first graduated from Metropolitan Community College, where she earned her Associate of Arts. She then attended Eastern Gateway Community College, where she earned her Associate of Applied Science degree in Health Information Management. Through EGCC she completed her Medical Coding Certification and Medical Scribe Certification. While finishing up with EGCC in 2023, Ms. Madison joined Kidz First Therapy for her practicum study and then as part of the billing team. She has 5 years of combined experience working with front desk/billing for medical outpatient clinics, and is passionate about helping to advocate for covered services through insurance. Outside of Kidz First Therapy, Mr. Madison enjoys spending time with her family (including her dog and cat), serving at her church and within her community, mowing the lawn, and working out. In my free time, I like to spend time with my fiancé and our very loved cat, Winston. I also am a big foodie and can talk favorite foods for hours. I love to cook/bake, try new foods, and go to different restaurant. I can’t wait to work with you and your child!

Meet Ms. Layne, she is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. Ms. Layne is a 2018 graduate of State Fair Community College, where she earned her Associate of Applied Science degree in Allied Health. Ms. Layne was actually a former student here at Kidz First in 2017! She has been proudly practicing for 7 years after she began her career in 2018, initially serving the geriatric population within long term care facilities. From there, she transitioned to the amazing world of pediatrics when she joined Kidz First Therapy in 2022. Ms. Layne has since been servicing clients through MO First Steps and within the clinic. Ms. Layne has a variety of continuing education that she has completed, including Beckman Oral Motor Protocol (feeding) and Musgatova Neuromuscular Re-education Integration (MNRI) neurodivergent population and 0-3 year old population. Outside of Kidz First Therapy, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé, family/friends, riding on the back of a motorcycle, visiting the family farm, and feeding the donkey treats. She also has a mini Australian Shepherd named Brie. A fun fact about Ms. Layne is that she shoots pool left-handed.
Meet Ms. Erin, one of Kidz First's Speech Language Pathologists. Ms. Erin graduated from University of Central Missouri with her Masters of Science in Speech Language Pathology in 2015. She has been practicing for almost 9 years, beginning her career in the public school setting. Ms. Erin joined Kidz First Therapy in 2022, and works with clients of all ages. Ms. Erin is currently working towards becoming a Certified Lactation Counselor. When she is not at Kidz First, you can find her spending time with her family and friends, reading a good book, or chasing her toddler around outside. A fun fact about Ms. Erin is that she likes to do marathons…on Netflix!

Ms. Kim is a 2018 graduate of Metropolitan Community College, where she earned her Associate of Applied Science degree in Allied Health. She has been proudly practicing since then, initially serving the adult population within a community-based day program before joining the Kidz First Team in 2020. She has worked with children for over 15 years, and has helped to create trauma and sensory informed programming for a non-profit while serving as the Children's Director for The Single Mom KC. Ms. Kim has a variety of continuing education including Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration training (MNRI), Masgutova Toolbox for Education, BAL-A-VIS-X, Visual Rehab certificate and is currently working on additional certifications for Reflex Integration, Trauma Tapping and Parent Coaching. Outside of Kidz First Therapy, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two boys, chickens, and camping as much as absolutely possible. A fun fact about Ms. Kim is that chickens are her favorite animal, and she has also gone skydiving!
Meet Ms. Kim, she is a Licensed and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. Ms. Kim is a 2018 graduate of Metropolitan Community College, where she earned her Associate of Applied Science degree in Allied Health. Ms. Megan is a pediatric occupational therapist and feeding specialist. Ms. Megan graduated from the University of Central Arkansas in 2021 with her Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy. She began her career in Arkansas working at a pediatric preschool and outpatient clinic. In 2023, Ms. Megan moved back to Kansas City and joined Kidz First Therapy, serving clients of all ages at the clinic. Ms. Megan has a variety of continuing education that she has completed including the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Approach to Feeding Conference, a 12-week SOS Approach to Feeding Mentorship Program, and Musgatova Neuromuscular Re-education Integration (MNRI). Ms. Megan specializes in working with picky eaters and has created the Fun with Food card deck, a resource containing 100 cards with various games and activities to help picky eaters learn to love new foods in a play-based and evidence-based approach. Ms. Megan also shares picky eating tips for parents on her social media pages called Making Mealtime Fun. Outside of Kidz First Therapy, she enjoys spending time with her family/friends, traveling, and doing anything outdoors. A fun fact about Ms. Megan is that she has an identical twin sister!

My passion has always been animals and children. After official "retirement" several years ago, I became involved with Mo-Kan Pet Partners, where I now serve as Chairperson. I have witnessed firsthand how the human-animal bond positively affects the health and well being of patients. My partner, Kiefer, is a Wheaten Terrier who has been certified in therapy work for 4 years. I also have a Golden Retriever who is working toward certification. I currently serve several area hospitals as well as the Jackson County Court System.I have 5 great grandkids that keep me busy on the weekends. I also love to hike and travel.
